GM Europe Gets Hottest Corsa Ever

2007 Opel Corsa VXR

GM's volume brand in Europe, Opel, has just taken the wraps off its hottest supermini ever.

The Corsa OPC boasts 192 hp from its turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine. It means a 0-60 mph time of 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph.

Only available as a three-door model, styling cues to mark it out from lesser models include door mirrors, fog lamps surrounds and a centrally-mounted tailpipe all finished in a triangular shape. The body wears side skirts, a mesh front grille, a roof spoiler, blue brake calipers and the option of 18-inch alloys.

Inside there's shell-backed Recaro sports seats and a race-style flat-bottomed steering wheel. Drilled alloy pedals, black detailing and unique badging finish off the cabin.

The car will make its debut at March's Geneva Motor Show and go on sale immediately after. It will be badged as the Corsa VXR in the U.K. where the Vauxhall brand is used instead of Opel.

Sounds great i hope it isnt too pricey, my old Astra is due its MOT I know it will fail unless I spend a fortune on Vauxhall parts so I could do with a new car.

Hey fellow bloggers,

Thanks for the fresh info and pics. I am also a car enthusiast and I tried to materialize that by putting together a collection of info and car photos on all the most important brands. While I covered manufacturers such as BMW or Audi, I am also focusing on smaller or less famous companies.

Opel is one of them. They’re not the most impressive brand name in the car manufacturer’s world, but they do come up with some nice models. Some of the more popular models include Opel Corsa, Opel Astra, Opel Signum, Opel Speedster, Opel Zafira, Opel Calibra, Opel Trixx, Opel Vectra.

If you’d like to contribute with photos or resources, please let me know.

Enjoy your day!
